    FAQs

    Questions, answered

    Do you offer in-person training?

I live and train in Fife, Scotland. At the moment I’m not taking on in-person clients. My coaching is online, so you can train with me wherever you are.

    Is 1:1 coaching available?

My 1:1 coaching is paused for now while I build Bearbell, and it will reopen later. It’s fully online, so I can work with you wherever you are in the world, and I’m fully insured to do so.

Join the Bearbell waitlist to be the first to hear when spaces open.

I keep learning all the time, because the women I work with deserve coaching that’s up to date and evidence-informed.

I also have a a BA (hons) and Masters degree in Fine Art so you know you good artistic hands too.

I’ve never set foot in a gym. Is Bearbell for me?

Yes, that’s exactly who it’s for. Bearbell is for women starting out or starting over, whether you’re new to the gym, coming back after years away or rebuilding after a big life change. You don’t need to be fit to start, and nobody expects you to know what you’re doing yet.

Do you only work with women over 40?

No. I’ll work with anyone who’s looking to get started or start over in the gym. If we’re the right fit, I’d love to support you on your journey.

Bearbell will offer a range of support, community, guidance and learning, so you can get involved as much or as little as you like.

Do you work with women on GLP-1 medication?

Yes. I support women using GLP-1 medications alongside their medical care, focusing on strength training, protein and habits that last. I’ve completed specialist training in GLP-1 support, and I’ve been on one myself.

I don’t give advice about medication, so questions about doses or side effects should always go to your GP or prescriber.

    How quickly will you reply?

I read every message myself and reply within 2–3 working days. If your question is about training with an injury or a medical condition, please check with your GP too, as I can’t give medical advice.

    Is Bear your real name?

It really is. I’m not a strong women who’s just adopted it as a gimmick. It got me all sorts of nicknames growing up. I used to hate it and was so glad to get married, but since then I have returned to it and well and truly grown in to it.
